Have You Got your BOT Yet ?
I realize that everyone has a growing arsenal of electronic devices such as new computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices. You might even consider a Robot to vacuum your floor or bring you your favorite beverage from the Fridge. Before you spend your precious dollars on these devices you should also consider what the FBI is reporting about potential threats to our precious computers via the internet.
BOTS for everyone.
According to a recent FBI report hackers have controlled about 2.5 million computers to commit crimes thru computer linked networks named “botnets”.
FBI Director Robert Mueller in a recent speech said that bots have the potential to attack entire networks, send spam, infect computers and inject spyware. In addition they can perform crimes that threaten national security.
How do BOTS WORK?
They invade a person’s computer thru various methods. Bots spread by searching the internet for unprotected computers, when one is found they immediately infect the machine and report back to the MASTER BOT. They reside hidden on the computer until the Master Bot sends out an instruction to carry out a task. This can be triggered by activity on the computer, a date, communication with the Master Bot or other concealed methods.
Once your computer is infected it can be used to Send Spam , Viruses or Spyware to other Computers. Another very serious possibility is the theft of your credit card numbers, bank credentials or other sensitive information you have entered on your computer. Once this information is found on your computer it is sent the Master Bot at which point the criminals who control the Master Bot determine how to rob you of your precious privacy and money.
